About the Club

Gold Cal Jrs Volleyball Club believes that success is a result of developing the players. Their desire is to provide opportunity for highly motivated volleyball players to further develop and enhance their skills through participation in USA Volleyball’s Junior Program. Gold Cal Jrs seeks to offer various programs depending on individual skill levels and the commitment of each player and team. They are dedicated to structuring programs that focus on providing the best possible opportunities for young athletes to develop basic and advanced volleyball fundamentals. Their commitment is to help young athletes achieve their individual and volleyball goals, ultimately achieving success and the overall goals for Gold Cal Jrs Club success.

Highlights

With the help of 5 GCJ alumnae, American River College women’s volleyball team won the Big 8 Conference for the  first time in school history! The Beavers went undefeated 14-0 through conference play.  Sophomore Jessica Condit was selected to 1st Team All Conference.

Melanie DeMure: 2008 U.S Volleyball Jr. Olympics – 18’s team placed 5th, 2006 SVC Coach of the Year , 2006 Nominated Who’s Who among Coaches in America , 2006 Nominated CIF Model Coach of the Year , 2005 Optimist All-Star Coach – Sacramento CA.

Julie DeWater: Champman University (volleyball scholarship)  All League & MVP.

Sara Hickenbottom: 2010-2014 William Jessup University  All conference 2011 , Player of the week (3 Times), Voted Captain sophomore year.

Jeff Linton: 1984-1996 Men’s NCVA/USVBA Indoor and Outdoor AA Rated Player.

Trevin Morgan: 1989- 1991 Northeastern Christian Junior College Men’s Volleyball – Captain (2 years)  Tri-State Area Intercollegiate Championship Tournament Runner-Up, Tri-State Area Intercollegiate Championship Tournament 1st Team All-Tournament Selection.
