Touch 3 Volleyball Class

This is a year round program, coaching kids ages 6 and up. Classes are run out of Prospect high school on Sundays from 9am to 3:30pm. Touch 3 director is Smitha Kumar who is helped by five other coaches during the classes.

Kids are segregated according to their skill levels and placed into appropriate groups . Most kids have made into School, Varsity and club volleyball teams.

Touch 3 does participate in some open tournaments , which helps kids to gain confidence and play at ease as they  move into higher level of competition.

Adults who wish to learn the game are also welcome.

Currently Touch 3 will be fielding three youth teams, four woman’s teams, and two men’s teams in the Bayvolley tournament on 16th of March at Independence High School, San Jose.

For kids 6 years and above, Touch 3:

  1. Concentrates in teaching basic fundamentals of the game like passing, setting, hitting and serving
  2. Prepares kids to play the game in a competitive level in simulated game environments

For Adults:

  1. There is no prior experience needed.
  2. Basic fundamentals are taught in fun way to exercise and learn the game

IVL Adult Volleyball Clinic

Instructors will include local coaches Malcolm Taylor, Thien Vu among others.

Setting, Spiking, passing and digging will be emphasized along with team defense.

Saturday, November seventh from 10am to 2pm

Chabot College Intro to Volleyball Adult Class

Designed to provide students an opportunity to learn or review and practice those skills which are acceptable under current rules and interpretations in the game of volleyball; to promote an interest in leisure time activity; acquire an appreciation of competitive play as a spectator; and to teach students what acceptable conduct is in a coeducational activity.

West Valley College Volleyball Beginner and Intermediate Adult Class

Beginner Volleyball: Skills for recreation, and for those wishing to begin or try the sport of volleyball.

Intermediate: Intermediate volleyball skills for those that have had experience with volleyball and know the basic skills.

De Anza College Intermediate and Advanced Volleyball Adult Class

Classes meet twelve weeks (September 19-December 9, 2016) unless otherwise indicated. Holidays – Monday, Nov. 10, and Thursday, Nov.27-through Sunday, Nov. 30 – Thanksgiving Weekend.

Instructor: Dawnis Guevara

An introduction to the discipline of Physical Education through the sport of volleyball. Includes a global and historical examination of the sport, rules, equipment, facilities, etiquette, safety, and fundamentals of volleyball. Students will develop their volleyball skills and improve upon basic team play strategies. Students will apply basic exercise physiology, nutrition, flexibility and strength concepts to improve their overall playing level.

De Anza College Beginner Volleyball Adult Class

An introduction to the discipline of Physical Education through the sport of volleyball. Includes: rules, equipment, facilities, safety, etiquette, basic fundamentals in beginning level volleyball with strategies for team offense and defense, and a brief historical examination of global contributions by the men and women who changed the game of volleyball. Students will develop passing, hitting, blocking, and serving techniques utilizing fundamental theories of physics. The skills portion of the course will encourage an understanding of how to adapt the game and conventional techniques to an individual’s physical abilities. Students will understand and apply basic exercise physiology, nutrition, flexibility, and strength concepts to improve their physical condition in order to play at a more advanced level.

Ohlone Women’s Intercollegiate Volleyball Adult Class

Taught at Ohlone College beginning onAugust 22nd and ending on December 12th of 2016.

This class is held on weekdays in the Epler Gymnasium on the Ohlone campus and meets from 12:30pm to 2:35pm.

Intermediate-Advanced : 16-years-old to Adult, Volleyball Class

This class is a weekly class every Monday night from 8 to 10pm.

Skills taught are team-play oriented with a fun atmosphere.
Students MUST
 be able to serve, pass, set, spike, block, and dig the ball with some consistency – in order to handle the drills and the play.

This is NOT a class for beginning players.  (There is a Beginning-Intermediate Class in Los Gatos on Thursday Nights – http://Volleyball.ORG/losgatos )

NO attitudes allowed.   FUN supportive learning environment.

Each weekly two-hour class is generally one-hour of DRILLS and one-hour of PLAY.

DRILLS: Game-like drills using the nets and maximizing ball contacts (and feedback from the coach).

              Skills taught are team-play oriented with a FUN practice/play atmosphere.

PLAY: Intermediate/Advanced level play, six-person teams, using 6-2 offensive system, perimeter defense.
